Monday, November 4: Day 1 of Cuban women in film series (1 full length film, and 9 shorts) Tuesday, November 5: Day 2 of Cuban women in film series (6 shorts) *Mandela & Fidel by Estela Bravo Those who attended the Friday, September 27th symposium Apartheid Terror, Cuba & Southern African Liberation, had the treat and privilege of viewing Estela Bravo’s Mandela and Fidel. It is a very touching film about the profound friendship between Nelson Mandela and Fidel Castro. The film shows Fidel attending the inauguration of Nelson Mandela as president after his release from prison, Fidel’s visit to Robben Island to see where Mandela spent many years in imprison, and Mandela and Winnie’s visit to Cuba.
