For those interested in the story of the girl with cystic fibrosis who needs lungs, here is a good overview. Twice this week I have seen things that link this whole thing to "Obamacare." It has zero to do with the ACA. What it does have to do with is the lack of organs that are available for transplant and the established way that medical professionals have deemed appropriate for allocation. It is misdirected and absurd to blame this on President Obama or Secretary Sibelius. The problem is that so many require transplant to live and there are VERY FEW DONORS. There is no great solution here, and there is no fair. People die awaiting transplant, and that includes children. PLEASE CONSIDER BEING A DONOR.
