For those of us who live in the northern hemisphere, today, 12/21 (or 21/12 if you live in Europe) marks the Winter Solstice. What makes the 2014 Winter Solstice so special is that it coincides with the New Moon -something that happens very rarely, once in hundreds of years. Astrologically, this is quite significant, but the immediate fun of it is, that not only will this night be the longest of the year, it will also be the darkest! The reason is that what we call the New Moon is actually the time of the Dark of the Moon. This is the one day of the month (or rather the one night of the moon cycle) when the moon casts absolutely no reflected light. So, in front of us is not only the longest and darkest night that we will get to experience in this lifetime but one that wasnt seen for centuries before us and wont be seen again for generations to come. It calls to us to courageously dive in and witness yet the darkest of our personal and collective human dramas, knowing that this is just a step towards welcoming back the Light. It is a call to Love bursting out into the world through ever more hearts. As this frequency increases, so does our power for transformation and change. A change that unfolds naturally, as the only possible outcome of the exponential increase in awakening happening all over the planet. Every single one of our tiny, individual moments of awakening counts. This is how the new Ascended Global Consciousness is solidifying. However frightening, a major change is the only way that we and our world can access the choice that has the power to write us a new outcome. The more we are willing, the more gracefully the changes will flow. As much as you can, prepare for being propelled into a completely new role in the world. Happy SOULstice, beautiful soul tribe! ~ Eyona Interestingly enough, we are in the waning phase of the moon, with the new moon in Capricorn also occurring on 12/21. This is an auspicious alignment. On this day, both the sun and moon turn their faces from us, allowing us to bask in the mystery and unknown of night. Then, together, they are re-newed, re-born, granting us new life, light, intentions and possibilities. Physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually, from all directions and realms, we are being invited to honor the dark and from that reverence, begin to celebrate the light. ~ Bekah Finch Turner consciouslifenews/sundays-winter-solstice-capri…/ The Solstice is a very powerful energetic moment of death and rebirth, when we transform our inner darkness into light and recreate ourselves. The Solstice, combined with the New Moon, brings the potential for some powerful endings and beginnings. ~ Amy Bird amybirdastrology As Sol enters Capricorn, standing still for three days and nights aligned with a New Moon where the personal meets the collective, you can discover a gateway to something more solid, real, earthy and practical -it is a time to look deeply, quietly within to scry the flickers of your future. ~ Lorna Bevan hareinthemoonastrology.co.uk “We celebrate the Winter Solstice as a festival of the Rebirth of the Sun, or the birth of the Divine Child of Light. The mystery of this time of year in the northern hemisphere is that in the darkest times, the Light is reborn. We have not only arrived at this yearly celebration, but we’ve also arrived at a collective ‘dark time’ and we have to re-birth our faith in life, our hopes for a better future and our determination to ‘make it so’. The grace and gift we’re given each Winter Solstice is to birth and nurture the Divine Light within. ~ Cathy Pagano wisdom-of-astrology/…/the-cosmic-story-winte… Alright! This is it! This is the time! We are the ones! Time to stand up tall and be counted! Don’t forget that the greater the light the darker the shadow when living in a 3D polarized world. Don’t let the “bad” news dampen your powerful good self! It is phenomenal to have a New Moon on the Solstice… it is like the gun going off at the beginning of a race. This Winter Solstice, this new Moon, we are sowing seeds. And those seeds are going to last for a long time. The symbolism here is strong. It indicates a time. It indicates a season. It indicates that it is time for humanity, for human consciousness to graduate. ~ Kaypacha Tom Lescher Winter/Summer Solstice occurs on December 21. This happens hours before the Capricorn New Moon.
