For those of us who work in healthcare today, we are all - TopicsExpress

For those of us who work in healthcare today, we are all experiencing confusion and facing changes that dont always make sense. For the small Residential Care Home owners in California however, these challenges are significantly greater. Many of us work with these small business owners on a daily basis and see the tremendous value they bring to our communities with their tireless dedication and compassion in their service to those they care for. We also rely heavily on the business to business relationships that contribute to our own success and are vital to economic growth taking place in our neighborhoods. These are businesses whose job it is to help others. We depend on them to provide care, support, comfort and love to the frail and infirm who are our families. Well, now they need our help! The California RCFE Reform Act of 2014 has many of these small business owners fearing for their survival. There are approximately 6500 of these small homes in California primarily owned by a double minority, ethnic women. I strongly encourage anyone who works with these businesses, has family who live in these homes or simply cares about important issues that are taking place in their community to please reach out to these business owners, show your support, offer resources and become educated on how these bills will affect each of us, specifically the aging community. There are associations and other leaders in this industry who are stepping up to bring awareness to these issues and help educate. But there is more to be done. Please reach out to those you know in this industry and find out how you can help!
