For those of you interested in wildlife rehab, actually I saw this on another page and liked how they kept notes...so here are mine thus far on new bunny 8/15/14 12pm was brought approximately 2 week old cottontail rabbit, found by dog but seemingly uninjured, although clicking heard while breathing. 2pm took baby to vet, she was given 15 mil sub q fluids and prescribed baytril for pneumonia. Weight 102 grams after fluids. Tried to feed, she was having difficulty breathing therefore eating is difficult. 10pm still trouble breathing, ate a little, have warm mist humidifier in room with a couple drops of essential oil diffused to help breathing. Ate a little, not much, gave second dose baytril. 8/16/14 6:20 am. A little bit brighter, poop noticed in cage. Wanted to drink electrolytes, ate a little bit gave baytril. Still breathing hard, tented humidifier over cage to help breathing, only while present to prevent over-heating. Cage is on a heating pad to maintain body temperature. 9:40 am drank 3 eye droppers of electrolytes. 2:20 pm weight 108 grams. Ears up, breathing hard, scared of my touch, drank 2 eye droppers od formula which is raw goats milk with cecotropes and gastric support powder and 1/2 and 1/2 cream. Put greens in cage 7:50pm gave baytril, greens not eaten, got a little formula down, brighter, breathing better warm mist humidifier running constantly, walls are sweating!
