For those of you not reading your emails - how many of the Lamb of - TopicsExpress

For those of you not reading your emails - how many of the Lamb of God Choir members and past or present Temple Hill Choir members would like to sing with the Symphony in October at the Oakland Temple Hill Auditorium? We are exploring the possibility of doing Carmina Burana. Carmina Burana is a "secular oratorio" with some solos and a lot of choir numbers set to the words of poems about fate, love, and life from the 13th century. The music is much more contemporary however and has a lot of fun stuff to it. Sounds more like European folk music in some places, other times like dramatic Wagnerian stuff. And some is quite well known having been used for commercials, movie soundtracks, etc. Would be a lot of fun - even if you have to sing it in Latin and German. Performances are set for Saturday, October 19 and Sunday, October 20. Let me know if you are interested in singing in the choir or auditioning for soloist roles (only a few of these are available, not like Lamb of God). Rehearsals will start in August. Once in a lifetime opportunity for many of us. Will be a challenge, but a lot of fun.
