For those of you that have been following Shah Bibi in the news lately, and our Facebook posts, we’d like to Thank You again. As we continue to find out that Shah Bibi has touched many lives, the following message we recently received has really motivated us to make sure that Shah Bibi returns for more surgical treatment next year. Shah Bibi’s spirit and journey has brought comfort to many, including the following family: Dear Children of War Foundation, “I wanted to share something else with you that I thought you would like to know. When Shah Bibi was brought to the gate at the outpost, she was met by SSGT Thomas Bayshore who applied a tourniquet and escorted her to the aid station where he stayed with her while Sam and Capt. Harris stabilized her. Sadly, SSGT Bayshore was shot to death a few months later on the same outpost by an Afghan Soldier in an Insider Attack. I sent the article to his widow yesterday and she is so blessed to hear the wonderful news of Bibis progress. It gave her and their young son great comfort to know that Tom was part of her story as well. “ COWF thanks all the service men and women of the U.S. military who have and who continue to fight for peace and children all over the world. We’d like to recognize Jamie Bayshore and her family for reaching out to us, she has graciously offered to collect donations in memory SSGT Thomas Bayshore for Children of War Foundation. Stay tuned as we learn more about how Shah Bibi has touched so many lives. Help us fight this war, donate today cowf.org
