For those of you that may not be aware last night marked the end - TopicsExpress

For those of you that may not be aware last night marked the end (at least at Yankee Stadium) of the career of Derek Jeter and an era of baseball that represents my childhood. I know some people think that he isnt the greatest Yankee ever, and he isnt, especially statistically. However, Derek was much more than RBIs, Defensive Runs Saved, and all other statistics to me and a whole generation of Yankee (and baseball) fans. His career to me is purely about the memories I will hold onto forever. His career is about remembering exactly where I was and who I was with when the Flip Play occurred, or the amount of times I made my Dad and brother pitch wiffleballs to me like Byung-Hyun Kim so I too could become Mr. November. Its about the times I dove into my couch acting I was flying into the stands. And last night, one more memory; a walkoff single (the video could certainly be a little better quality) at his last home game with me, and a whole host of family members were in attendance. Ill never forget high-fiving all of my family members in attendance as well as handfuls of complete strangers that were experiencing the same feelings that I was going through. So Id like to say this one last time, Thank you Derek for each and every one of the memories I hold as well as all of those all other baseball fans hold.
