For those of you who dont keep up with general current events, today the U.S. Supreme Court (SCOTUS) issued an opinion in the Burwell vs. Hobby Lobby, stating that certain for-profit corporations cannot be required to pay for specific types of contraceptives for their employees. This court decision touches upon a large number of volatile topics, including the the role of faith, power of public corporations, and the extent of federal authority into the private sphere. I understand that Hobby Lobby is a source of materials for some cosplayers, and thus this topic becomes relevant to this cosplay page. Though personally, no Hobby Lobby stores exist close to where I live, so Ive never been to one (and thus I dont plan on patronizing one in the future). If you feel that this topic is particularly relevant to your interests, I would suggest reading through the SCOTUS decision here (i2.cdn.turner/cnn/2014/images/06/30/13-354_olp1.pdf) in order gain a more complete understanding of the decision. As always, with everything corporate, some of the most effective methods of communication would be though (or withholding of) financial endorsement of their stores. There are a number of retail and online establishments which provide the same or similar products, if you wish to discontinue shopping at Hobby Lobby.
