For those of you who dont know, every year me and the boys get together and dress us as Santa, ride around Brisbane and sweat like dogs. This year we thought wed do it for charity. So far there is going to be about 60 people, who have generously donated their time and money to join the annual ride. The time has finally come to announce our 2014 charity. Operation Christmas Child is an international organisation which aims to help the less fortunate children in third world countries. WAYS YOU CAN HELP - A - By getting a shoebox from myself or supplying your own and filling it with the recommended items. You can then write your name on the box, give it to myself or even meet us at the drop off point which will be yeronga. We then ride to the drop off point (Yeronga) and donate our gifts. They require $9 to help with postage and logistics to wherever it goes (this is on their website for you to check). B - If you dont have the time to fill a shoebox you can always donate a few smaller items on the recommended list. These are then donated and later on put into shoe boxes to be sent overseas. RECOMMENDED LIST - SOMETHING TO LOVE Teddy bear, doll, soft toy, etc. SOMETHING FOR SCHOOL Exercise book, pencil case, PENS, pencils, colouring pencils, sharpener, eraser, chalk, etc. SOMETHING TO WEAR T-shirt, shorts, underwear, cap, beanie, sandals, thongs, etc. SOMETHING TO PLAY WITH Tennis ball, cars, skipping rope, marbles, musical instrument, yo-yo, slinky, finger puppets, wind up torch, etc. (No battery operated items)* SOMETHING FOR PERSONAL HYGIENE Soap and face WASHER, toothbrush, hairbrush, comb, hair-clips, scrunchies, etc.(No toothpaste)* SOMETHING SPECIAL Carry bag, sunglasses, bangles, necklaces, craft kits, STICKERS, note or photo of yourself. SPREAD THE WORD, ANYONE CAN HELP! THATS THE BEAUTY! JUST LET ME KNOW AND ILL GET WHOEVER A BOX AND IF THEY ARE LOCAL I CAN ARRANGE DROP OFF AND PICK UP FOR THEM!! DONT FORGET THE $9 FEE. I DO NOT PROFIT AT ALL FROM THIS, ALL FEES ARE ON THE WEBSITE!! THANKYOU ONCE AGAIN!! LETS GET COLLECTING! HELP MAKE A CHANGE.
