For those of you who don’t already know, I’m retiring from - TopicsExpress

For those of you who don’t already know, I’m retiring from teaching Jazzercise, and today will be my last class. This will come as a surprise to some of you, and for that I apologize. I gave Arlene my notice after our DC trip and neither of us wanted to make it a long, drawn-out goodbye process. I’m ready to have a little more free time to pursue my other interests: the new blog I started (and haven’t been keeping up with very well), searching for a good job, spending more time with the kids, and looking for a house. I’ve known I needed to go for a long while, but all the instructors & students at the center made it so fun to stay and so hard to leave! The Jazzercise program took me from a very overweight and mildly depressed 30 year-old housewife to a healthy, fit, and positive middle-aged woman. I am living proof that you don’t need to kill yourself training like a Marine or endure any kind of painful exercise program to be in shape. You just need to dance, stretch, lift weights, and repeat. And repeat. And repeat. If you’re not in an exercise program that makes you want to jump out of bed and race through traffic to make it to class on time, then you obviously haven’t been working out with us at Fuquay Jazzercise! Don’t forget to push yourselves (safely, of course!), you are stronger than you think you are. Make your health and fitness a top priority, right up there with your marriage and kids. And whenever that lying little voice in your head speaks up and tries to tell you that you’re not good enough, or smart enough, or thin enough, just turn the music up louder, kick higher, and shake your booty faster. Nothing shuts up negativity like a good strong hip push! I will miss seeing you every week, and I will definitely miss all the love and positive affirmations you gave to me. Working out with you all and getting to know all your wonderful souls and bright shiny personalities is one of the best things about Jazzercise. Thank you for your friendship.
