For those of you who have been following my husbands half iron man journey youll be pleased to know we are all back from his big weekend totally exhausted but elated. Himself, his brother, his brother in law and one of our best mates all competed in this years Busso half iron competition and ALL of them finished with no injuries. All of them bar our young friend are in their fifties and this was their first (and last!) half iron man event and I am absolutely awestruck by the commitment, dedication and sheer guts shown by all four of them. Not to mention all of the other competitors as well. Many a tear was shed by me watching people compete who were dealing with their own demons and obstacles too and who showed unbelievable ticker to even make it across the finish line. Massive amounts of respect to ALL competitors. It was a humbling experience indeed, especially as I watched my husband and his brother cross the finish line arm in arm. Still brings a tear to the ol eyeballs.....
