For those of you who have been following our struggle with Kale’s allergies. WE HAVE AN ANSWER!! Kale has something called “Skeeter Syndrome”. I had looked it up before, the name sounded ridiculous, but apparently it’s a real thing. A small percentage of children have a severe reaction to Mosquito bites in which the area immediately around the bites will swell really bad after a few hours to a few days after the initial bite. The doctor insists he will grow out of it, once he gets older it won’t be as severe. For now, every summer, it’s going to be a daily dose of meds to prevent a reaction in case he gets bit, lots of bug spray and an Epipen on hand. At least we finally have an answer!
