For those of you who have been kind enough to ask about Poody, he is stable but still very far from healed. After give days in the hospital, surgery, antibiotics, pain meds and compresses to calm the pain and swelling, hes still in pretty bad shape. He is also having trouble breathing due to the swelling and emergency tracheotomy. He became so excited when I visited him this evening that he started choking and turning purple. The nurse stayed with us during the visit to continue monitoring him in case he started to choke again. He is eating but has to be hand fed and he sleeps a lot right now. He nearly fell asleep in my arms during the visit, but the short, 30-minute visit simply wore him out. It broke my heart, but I left him in their care again so that he can heal some more before he comes home. Once again, I ask sincerely for any help that you can offer.
