For those of you who have followed Jackies story, here is her update. She will be at Petco in Tyler tomorrow from noon to 5:00 pm. Jackie is ready to meet her forever family. Hello! I am Jackie, and I have been told that I am a kitty love machine. My only goal in life is to be near you (or even better yet, in your lap) and to show you my complete devotion. You see, I just love human attention and affection. I will always reward you with my great purr. I was rescued from the shelter because I was so sweet to everyone who came to visit. But people were a little concerned because something was amiss with my right eye. My foster mom took me to the vet, and she was given special ointment to put in my eye. Two weeks later, the redness was gone, and I was taken in to the vet again, this time to be spayed. While I was asleep for my surgery, the vet got a closer look at my eye. Although the redness was gone, the vet said my eye was probably permanently damaged from an earlier trauma. After many months with no progress, my foster mom made the hard decision to have my problem eye removed. I am so much happier now that that pesky orb isn’t hurting or causing me any more problems. And I can see just fine with the beautiful eye I still have. Now pets and head-rubs are pure pleasure for me. All I want now is a family of my very own. I love my foster parents, but their home is a rescue and there are too many other cats for my taste. I do pretty well with the 40 pound Texas cattle dog (we just leave one another alone). My foster mom says I must have been a really great mother before I was rescued from the shelter. Right after I was rescued, she took me to be “fixed” so I wouldn’t have any more kittens. But after the spay, some new tiny kittens were brought into my home. I loved them so much that my body started making mother’s milk for them! So I helped foster those 9 babies until they grew up big and strong. My foster parents now make sure that I don’t have to compete for anything. My days of having to struggle to survive are over at last! If you are looking for a cat that will sit in your lap, sleep on your bed, and cherish every moment with you, I am your girl!
