For those of you who have never done a race before... Things to remember: BRING YOUR ID TO PACKET PICKUP! You will have to have your ID to pick up your race packet. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS! Go to setupevents and check out the Race Site Layout. Bring something to put your transition gear in just in case you have to carry it and your bike a long distance. You will not be able to drive up and drop your gear off and then park. Take your race number and go pick up your race chip. You will place the chip on your ankle. Straps will be supplied. Go to the body marking station to get marked (or come pre-marked.) WEAR YOUR TRI CLUB CLOTHING if you have any! Even if it is just your t-shirt or tank top. This will help your teammates to spot you along the course and help to cheer you on.. Triathlon Essentials Swimsuit/Tri Suit Wetsuit Goggles Swim Cap Shorts/Shirt (optional) Socks (optional) Running Shoes Biking Shoes Biking Helmet Bike (check air in tires) Water Bottle Towel Number belt Timing Chip Bracelet Spare Tube CO 2 Tire filler Sun Glasses Gel Other things to remember: BRING YOUR ID to packet pick-up!!! You can’t pick up your packet without it! Eat breakfast. Arrive early—you will have to wait in a LOOOOONG line for the trolly to bring you to the race start. If you wait too late you may not make it over. Don’t wear shoes or clothes you have never raced in. Swim Caps are supplied for Open Water Swims. Do not mount or dismount your bike until told to do so. Put your helmet on before you leave the transition area. Do not ride directly behind other bikers as you might be penalized. Bring your wetsuit, they may be legal depending on water temp. Check air pressure in your tires on race morning. Ride your bike on race morning prior to the race.
