For those of you who havent heard, the wonderful L.R. Knost (author of Two Thousand Kisses a Day) has been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. As she undergoes treatment, her family is facing immense hardship. She has had numerous offers of fundraisers and declined them all because she didnt want the focus to be on her cancer, but rather the message of gentle parenting. Finally her wonderful son Doc who has been managing her site and page came up with the wonderful idea to do a shared fundraiser. Specifically, half the funds raised will go to spreading gentle parenting by providing hospitals, crisis centres, and pregnancy centres with gentle parenting books whereas the other half will be used to help cover the huge medical expenses that her family faces. I will be sharing this regularly and I hope that in an online community that has consistently preached the need for greater community help, we can come together to help one of our own who has dedicated her life to spreading the message of gentle and respectful parenting. If you only have $2 to spare, please spare it - if one out of every six people on this page donated $2, their goal would be reached.
