For those of you who missed the initial announcements a few months back, Im putting together an anthology of short stories (factual or fictional), poems, haiku, and other odds and ends to be titled Rockford Writes. To be included, you need only be a Rockfordian (past or present), and make a submission that is accepted. If youre interested, there is a secret group that you may be added to - just PM me. Publication is loosely set for spring, 2015. Heres the kickoff post for the work, posted today: Good morning, gang! I hope youre enjoying your weekend. As of now, I will begin accepting submissions for the Rockford Writes work. Remember that it can be factual, fictional, poetry, haiku, or anything else written (no recipes). Selection for inclusion will be done by myself, my wife, and possibly a third party(ies) when the time comes. Wed like to have submissions locked down by January 31st, 2015. Prior to publication, there will be paperwork to sign, stating that you give permission for the work to be published, and relinquish the rights to it, for the sake of the work only. This means that you can still publish or post it elsewhere in the future. Once more: if you know someone who would care to be a part of the project, there is still time to invite them into the group to do so. Cover design will be handled by yours-truly, though I will wait to see what filling we come up with before choosing a format and layout. Thank you - one and all - who wish to participate.
