For those of you who remember Sounds Great Stereo, Harry Pearson - TopicsExpress

For those of you who remember Sounds Great Stereo, Harry Pearson was a big influence on what we tried to do there in the 70s and early 80s: Make records and tape recordings sound their best. We didnt have some of the crazy high end audiophile equipment The Absolute Sound magazine was reviewing. The Topeka market just wasnt the right fit for that stuff. But we did sell some fine upscale, non-mass produced, musical component stereo systems; some of which I still see from time to time in houses I list or sell. Sure brings back a lot of fun memories. I still have my Dahlquist DQ-10 loudspeakers that are now some 40 years old and a Kenwood direct drive turntable with a granite base. Who thought granite kitchen countertops would come from that? HA! Thanks Harry. I still have my Volume 1 Issue 1 of The Absolute Sound from 1973.
