For those present Saturday at Kingsport Speedway for the Robert Pressley Invitational Friends of Coal - We Support Coal Miners 125, it was a chilly night in East Tennessee for the 2013 season finale. But the racing action proved to be heated and the exciting finish will leave everybody talking over the long off-season. Derrick Lancaster of Christiansburg, Va., visited victory lane for his first-ever Late Model Stock win at the .375-mile banked concrete oval, winning over Ronnie McCarty, Hayden Woods, Lance Gatlin and Kyle Barnes. Kenny Absher of Kingsport recorded the Pure 4 feature win, while Derek Lane of Kingsport won the Legends race. Following lengthy post-race inspections for the top Late Model Stock finishers, and then a mixup regarding the finishing sheets I bring home, look for a complete recap of the racing program either late Sunday evening or on Monday - once I have the results emailed to me.
