For those running or planning to run in the first annual 2014 Harbor Fest 5k and Half Marathon on Sunday, August 31st. In just one week and less for you vacationers...you will run one of the most beautifully scenic, yet challenging race courses in Maine! A few things to remember... Race packet pick up and day of registration begins at 7:30am race day at the race start location...Boothbay Craft Brewery & Watershed Tavern. Parking: We hope to first fill the Boothbay Fire Department parking lot where runners can walk a short trail to the brewery. Once filled, people can park at the Boothbay Region YMCA where a shuttle bus will make runs between the Y and Brewery. All runners who registered by Aug. 16 will receive a race performance shirt in their race bag. We have ordered a few extras to sell at the race for those who registered after Aug. 16. There will be 5 water stations along the race route. Dont forget to purchase your post race BBQ tickets at the Brewery when you arrive unless you already did so online. This race is challenging and will take place on public roads. Therefore, runners must follow the directions of local police, sheriff and route volunteers. A portion of Lakeside Drive will be closed to thru traffic for the safety of runners. It is a two mile stretch near the beginning of the route and we plan on closing it until all runners are through...approx. 30 minutes max. The race proceeds benefit the Boothbay Region Community Trails Partnership!
