For those struggling with what to believe, the personal experience of millions attest to the veracity of Christ. For me, the third stanza of this song, written over 200 years ago, sums up my own experience. Long my imprisoned spirit lay, Fast-bound in sin and natures night. Thine eye diffused a quickening ray, I woke, the dungeon flamed with light. My chains fell off, my heart was free, I rose, went forth, and followed thee. Amazing love, how can it be, That thou, my God shouldst die for me? To reject this truth would be to deny my existence since August 10, 1980.
