For those that dont know.... My name is Jodie Keast. I am the mother of two beautiful girls; devastatingly I lost my eldest daughter, Courtney, in a tragic accident in January 2014. At Courtney’s funeral we asked for soft toys in lieu of flowers. Courtney loved soft toys of all descriptions and we felt that it would be more fitting for her than flowers as she was only 12. The number of soft toys was overwhelming and in total we received around 380. We tagged all these bears with Courtney’s picture and a brief description of what the bears where about. These were all donated to the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne. You may be wondering what I am asking. Courtney was the kind of girl that made friends wherever she went. She was an amazing dancer, a school captain in her last year of school, a loyal friend and the best big sister to Madi. I am a mum that is struggling to come to terms with our loss so I have created a few projects to keep myself busy. Cuddles from Courtney will donate gifts, art supplies, games and various toys every year to children on the wards at the RCH in January, in honour of Courtney’s birthday. The response to date has been unbelievable, so we have decided drop off points for people would make for easy access. The drop off points to date are: Our Lady of the Rosary Parish School, Kyneton Kyneton Secondary College, Kyneton 31 Jessie Evelyn Crescent, Kyneton St Ambrose Parish School, Woodend I also have contacts in Gisborne and Ballarat that can collect on our behalf.
