For those that havent heard, i got my original IG account back!!! - TopicsExpress

For those that havent heard, i got my original IG account back!!! Yay!!!🎉🎉🎉 several people have asked what went down. When my account was first disabled, i tried everything. I filed a complaint via the help center, looked into what my legal rights were and if it was worth getting a lawyer (none and no) and got in touch personally with a high ranking Instagram employee who was a friend of a friend - all of which were dead ends. I was told nothing could be done. After a lot of heartache and hard work, I decided I had to move on and started posting under @jessicakettle- just assuming that was the end. In the last few weeks though, several more moms with problems like mine were deleted and got accounts BACK (@yanpalmer, @courtneybabyccino @helloamerikaw to name a few)! I felt I had to try again. Thankfully a friend who had gotten their account back shared an email address of an IG employee that they thought might be able to help (thankyouthankyouthankyou!!!!!). I emailed this person late Thursday afternoon and on Friday morning, my account was back with an apology letter from another IG employee. It blows my mind that after everything I went through, all it took was a simple email to the RIGHT person. which is equally awesome and maddening! Some of my baby bum images were removed, but shockingly, many were left up despite IG claiming we have reactivated your account without the images that dont meet our policies. So after backing up my feed with socialsafe.net, exporting the entire thing as a PDF, and ordering 21 chatbooks of my feed (😳), I deleted the rest of my questionable [insert eyeroll] images to protect my account. Interestingly, I never launched a big repost campaign to bring back my account and honestly, I dont think it makes a bit of difference anyway. Dont get me wrong Im sure it helps raise awareness surrounding the issue, but I dont think it actually brings accounts back. IG doesnt care if you tag them in posts and have thousands of hashtagged posts of people who support you, because I dont think IG employees have a CLUE whats going on with their users unless someone is reporting your images or you reach national media. Or email someone directly apparently. So if you or someone you know has had an account unfairly removed for sharing innocent photos of children or breast feeding etc, I would love to try and help them by sending an email with their info or sharing the contact info with them directly if that doesnt work.
