For those that missed it, Alan Aragon, Brad Schoenfeld, and James Krieger’s, ‘Effects of meal frequency on weight loss and body composition: a meta-analysis‘ was published and its all available for free here: nutritionreviews.oxfordjournals.org/content/73/2/69 I’d encourage you to read it all, but lets face it, 99% of you are not going to, right? Thus onto two important questions: 1. Does this change anything about your recommendations made in your Nutritional Pyramid of Importance article on timing? - I checked it over when including this study as a link, and no. (rippedbody.jp/nutritional-hierarchy-importance-4-meal-timing-frequency-macro-cycling/) 2. Any highlights? - The limitations section and concluding comments: ...the small difference in magnitude of effect between frequencies suggests that any potential benefits, if they exist at all, have limited practical significance. Given that adherence is of primary concern with respect to nutritional prescription, the number of daily meals consumed should come down to personal choice if one’s goal is to improve body composition. Keep calm and carry on then. ;)
