For those that missed the update about Joseph: went to the Pediatric GI Specialist today. He does not believe Joseph has mal-absorption, but wants to rule it out totally. Hes not sure about the lesions yet, as he wants to get a look for himself. (Josephs bowel is full of Gastric Mucosal Lesions.) So, next week, at Hershey Medical, hell have an MRI done of his digestive tract area - with contrast, then immediately afterwards hell have a Barium Enema done. Doctor believes were only dealing with constipation issues, however . . . . . . (heavy duty prayer time) . . . . . . . Joseph will also have a sweat test done on Friday, at Hershey, to determine if Cystic Fibrosis is whats behind it all. I always thought CF was purely a lung disease. As it turns out, it can also affect the digestive tract much like it affects the lungs. Since Joseph had issues at birth, and ever since, he wants to see if this is the cause. I pray its not! CF can be a horrible disease. (Joseph has agreed that the needle was actually that bad, he just couldnt get out of his rage when he was in the throws of it, so Im hoping these next tests go easier for him - and ME!!)
