Details: Book Launch – Friday 24th October 2014 A 100 year history of the school book will be produced and launched at the Centenary Weekend, available for purchase at both the reunion and the fair. The book will incorporate highlights from the 75 year book written by Sue Scheiffers as well as anecdotal stories and images from the past 25 years. Centenary Weekend – Sunday 24th and 26th October 2014 The Centenary weekend will include two major events: 1. Old Scholars Open Day and Social Function on Friday 24th of October 2. Centenary Fair on Sunday 26th of October 1. Old Scholars Reunion and social function Date: Friday 24th October 2014 Time: 1 – 6pm (Please note time change. Event is now 1-6pm) Location: Westbourne Park Primary School, 2 Marlborough Rd, Westbourne Park, SA. All old scholars and their guests invited - Registrations essential Format of the event 1 – 2.45pm – tours will depart regularly from the front office. 2.50 – 3.10pm – Old scholars assembly 3.15 – 6pm – Old scholars social event – drinks available for purchase and nibbles provided Friday the 24th of October will be a day old scholars will not want to miss because this is the day that the school will hold its Centenary Reunion and Open day. Old scholars and their friends are invited to attend the school between the hours of 1 and 6pm for a fun filled reunion. Tours will depart from the front office regularly between 1 and 2.45pm where visitors can see how the classroom operates now including teaching with electronic white boards, learning with iPads, see the students creating power point presentations, and much more. Then guests are invited to stay at the school to be part of our Old Scholars Assembly which will include current students. Here old scholars will get the chance to be ‘dismissed’ one more time by the Principal, Mr David Adams. And once the bell goes (at 3.10pm) the reunion continues as an afternoon of mingling and catching up with old school mates at our Old Scholars Social Event. A highlight of this will be the school hall which will be transformed into an exhibition of school artefacts from past years, images, photos, creations by each current class, and time capsule contents. A new 2014 time capsule will also be on display before being sealed at the end of the event. There will be lots of memorabilia on sale during the Reunion so guests are encouraged to support the school by purchasing something from the merchandise range. Beer, wine and soft drink will be available for purchase during the social event. Guests will have the opportunity to buy a glass of wine at the social event (3.30 – 6pm) and keep the glass which has the school and centenary logos on it. Registrations are essential for the reunion. The school will have a sign in book available on the day, and also a list of all registered attendees so that others can see who is in attendance on the day which may help old scholars reconnect with long lost friends. School Days Centenary Fair Date: Sunday 26th October 2014 Time: 10 – 3pm Location: Avenue Road Oval, Avenue Road, Cumberland Park, SA. Free entry – all welcome. Come along to the fair to enjoy rides, sideshows, face painting, fashion parades, musical performances, gourmet food stalls, chocolate wheel, silent auction, white elephant, competitions, meet Peppa Pig and more. Kids, enjoy the Centenary Trail which will include giveaways from many of the stalls.
