For those who are interested here is the full story that happened with mediatemple.net, thats the email i sent them: The reason I made a request to close 2 accounts, 5 servers, end a 3 year (or more) relationship with media temple and move to another host: Here is my story: i have never seen such a horrible service in my life, i am with media temple since years. i have 5 servers (on two different accounts) 3 days ago my main server was shutdown by media temple , when i called your support i was told that a dos attack is being made against my server and the only way to protect your network is to shut down my ip address (first fail!) i moved my site to one of my other media temple severs and within 10 minutes you closed my other server as well. i moved to the third server and it was shut down by you. after few hours i had all my 4 servers closed i literary begged the support team to give me access to my files for 10 minutes to move to another host but my request was refused , i got answers like 1- thats all we can do 2- we cant give you access to your own server to protect our network (fail fail fail #2) 3- you are talking 100 miles per hour (sarcasm from one of the customer service) again fail#3 Can’t people even speak politely to customers when they are extremely frustrated ? after 36 hours of begging you to give me 10 minutes access the only response was we placed your files on a new server but you only have ftp access. the file was very large 1.6 gigs, so i had to download it from another server when i tried to download the file i found a timeout that prevents me from grabbing the file from another server (fail#4) i called customer support to ask to remove the time out and they refused (fail#5) i asked them to unzip the file into smaller ones so that i can download it but they refused (fail#5) i kept begging for 10 more hours, talked to more than 10 people and they all refused to either unzip the file, give me shell access or even remove the timeout after i managed to grab the file with the help of a friend in the united stats who has a super fast connection i found that the databases and the files provided were 2 years old!!!! (fail #7) i called the customer service and told them please i only need my files to move to another server) and the response was thats all we can do thats all we can do thats all we can do after 48 hours i finally got access to my server and migrated away to another provider IS THIS A SERVICE ????????????? I will take this story online, publish it on my blog , tell the bbb , spread this story everywhere and let people know how you treat your customers the biggest and final fail is that when i moved my site to another host i found no denial of service attack happening!!!!!! its either your system is too fragile or you are too afraid to get subjected to a dos attack that you shut down servers ! any amateur hacker can now bring the whole media temple servers down what can you do to prevent someone now from dos attacking all of your ip addresses????? you will just shutdown your servers! this was the worst service i ever got in my life
