For those who feed raw 4 paws, diarrhea is probably something you really encounter in your dog if ever. But for those who feed commercially processed dried diets this can be a common occurrence. This article contains excellent advice for those whose dogs have bouts of diarrhea. To summarize, firstly dont feed your dog for approx 8 hours. Then introduce a bland diet for up to 48 hours consisting of cooked pumpkin and fat free cooked turkey which you can buy in the deli section of the supermarket and also add a small amount of mashed banana if your dog will eat it. Transition your dog back to his normal diet 24 hours after achieving consistent stools. See veterinarian if your dogs stools are still runny after 48 hours with no improvement. Please note that white rice is NOT the recommended choice for a bland diet as you may have heard in the past from your vet. As explained in the article white rice does not consist of the right type or amount of fibre and also note that rice does NOT contain any useful nutrients for canines and in fact grains are pro-inflammatory for dogs!!!. Interestingly dried processed dog kibble even the most expensive brands contain up to 50 % grain!!!! Who knew??? Raw 4 Paws contains zero grain of any kind. Ask your dog. He knows whats good for him!
