For those who genuinely desire change like i do, your anxiety for the existence of a credible opposition party that will engage the ruling party and help in ensuring existence of good governance and equity is understood. But when i saw screaming headlines on internet that APC had been registered, i had to be cautious. I do not think APC is registered yet. One of the INEC requirements for registration of existing parties seeking to merge is the existence of a solid National headquarters. INEC was mandated to inspect same yesterday. A four member team was sent for that job. I am sure they are yet to submit the report. I am sure the report will be favourable. I am also sure the partie‘s interim chairman, Chief Bisi Akande was misquoted as saying the party has been registered. “Almost registered“ would be the word. As we wait with bated breath the emergence of a strong alternative party which may become reality in days, let us ponder on the role of opposition. The sole aim of any political party is to win elections. In that sense i want APC to win the 2015 presidential elections. But more than anything my allegiance and dream is to see a country which makes sense. I do not care which party brings that semblance of sense to Nigeria. I hope it is APC,PDP having woefully failed to do so. I therefore want APC to come out with a marshal plan of how to take this country out of the doldrum we found ourselves. If the opposition is in any way just interested in capturing power with no inkling of what next to do with it, i am not for it. As we all wait eagerly for the anticipated political revolution we so yearn, let us come out of our comfort zones and be part of the whole political process.
