For those who live in the relative safety and security of the suburbs or in a highly-policed downtown gentrified enclave for professionals and other successful high net worth individuals - remember this. For the underclass, America is truly a police state with the largest percentage of people in prison in the entire world. They already live day-to-day with a fear of the police. Theyve been dealing with police brutality for their entire lives. For men in the US, 38% of whites, 44% of Hispanics and 49% of blacks have been arrested by age 23. America has the largest prison population in the world. Ever. We have 315 million people and more people in jail than Communist China. Yes, that China with 2 billion citizens. More people in prison than even Stalin at the height of his terrors. A civil war is brewing that you dont even know about. One with strong moral underpinnings. Despite your deeply held views that such people are criminals who deserve what they get, the just cause from their point of view will propel them to violent revolt. One that the police cannot protect you from. NO constabulary in history has ever, not once survived a popular uprising. This nation has 200 million guns. There are less than 1.5 millions cop, federal agents and soldiers who have no legal duty to protect you. Do something now to reign in the out of control police state. Paraphrasing John F. Kennedy, if we make legal justice impossible, violent justice will become inevitable. If were going to stop the violence, the police need to be held accountable and their powers vastly curtailed. And that means YOU will have to take personal responsibility for your own self protection and that of your property.
