For those who think that globalisation doesnt have any positive benefits, I ask of them: -Where did that phone you use come from? It was made in China and designed in the USA. -The numbers you used? They are derived from a combination of Arabic and Indian numbering systems. -The calendar you use? It was developed by Dionysius Exiguus, a man from Scythia Minor, an old province of the Byzantine Empire thats now part of Bulgaria and Romania. -The automobile you use? Thats a German invention. -Your goods were probably transported to you partially by railway, which is a British invention. -The guitar is a descendant of instruments brought to the Iberian Peninsula by North African Moors. -Those potatos are indigenous to South America. -Prefabricated homes were first developed in Mughal India. -Tea originated in China. -The CD was jointly developed by a Dutch company, Philips, and a Japanese company, Sony. -Electronic pocket calculators were developed in Nippon in the 1960s. -The chemical foam fire extinguisher was developed by Aleksandr Loran, a Russian. -The USB drive was developed by Israeli company M-Systems. I could go on and on, but the point is that globalisation has overall improved everyones lives. If one thinks that globalisation has no benefits, then why are they using all these internationally-derived products? A lot of these anti-globalisation are hypocrites in this sense.
