For those whom live in our county that do not like the new fire tax food for thought!!! Your insurance rate is based on ISO rules. Going by this rule if your fire dept. can drop 1 rate this will save you $200 a year in a wood frame house or $300 a year in a block or brick home. If you spend $40,000.00 a year this tax will only cost you $100 a year. So you do the math this tax is putting money in your pocket weather you know it or not. For the dept. that are building sub. stations this will make a lot more homes have a lower rate. So instead of hating this tax get out and help your dept. make good strong decisions with it. Some say it will be used wrong if so get that dept. not the entire county. Oil Trough fire chief
