For thousands of years, music has been used on many levels for healing, inspiration, expression, originality, creativity and increasing IQ. Sometime in the past century, limiting belief systems about music education have spread throughout our education system and formed a set of parameters which can limit us in our learnings and experiences as students. Since the inception of the Universal School of Music, Steve Jaz has dedicated his life to providing real, valuable life lessons and transformational experiences helping students discover their highest potential by stepping outside the box of conventional and outdated traditional teaching systems. So where does the USM SSF fit in? In addition to providing scholarships, rewards and recognition for students, the USM SSF can provide the platforms for students and young aspiring artists to apply their skills in environments beyond the classroom. These include working alongside professional musicians as mentors, professional recording opportunities, networking opportunities, marketing and media support as well as support for equipment, and travel itineraries which form part of the Artist Development Program.
