For three days we have been using adjectives. In English there are rules, but there are always exceptions to the rules. Today is the exception to the adjective rule. If you want to EMPHASIZE something, or some description, that adjective should go first. If you are surprised by something or it is unusual, we use that adjective first. Examples: The witch used her long, ugly finger. (This shows the finger is VERY long.) (size before opinion) The house had a round, big door. (A round door is unusual.) (shape before size.) She bought purple, new shoes. (Surprised that the shoes are purple. (color before age)
