For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written, as I live saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me and every tongue shall confess to God. So then everyone of us shall give account of himself to God. Romans 14, 9:12 As I was reading the Bible today, the beginning of the Book of Romans, I begin to think about the word accountability. We are all going to be held accountable for what we do when we face God on judgment day. Accountable means; answerable for what we do. Many of us feel that if we are sorry we are being accountable, but your not accountable until it cost you something, to pay for what one has done. Example: a store sign said You break it, you bought it that equals accountability. So how do we apply this to our lives as we faithfully prepare ourselves for eternal life? If you have disagreements with someone, to be accountable you have to make peace with them. If you break Gods Commandments, you have to humble yourself and ask Gods forgiveness. If you have taken, we must return. Really nothing new, this is written throughout the Bible. Read Gods word and to be accountable, follow it. Each of us have an account in heaven, a record of our lives. Sort of like a ticker tape machine that when we are following God its ticking away filling the basket with tape, but when we are not the tape stops. On judgment day God will look at our basket. How full will it be? How accountable have we been? Let us pray; Heavenly Father you are all loving and understanding, Lord give me the strength to be a faithful servant. Help me to be patient with my brothers and sisters in faith. Lord as I read your word, send forth the Holy Ghost to show me the way to you, and Lord I stand before you asking forgiveness for all my actions that would harm my relationship with you. In Jesus name I pray. Amen. God Bless
