For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12 (ESV) Although some of the things we face are due to evil and God has authority over that often times much pain and suffering is do to people choosing to continue in their behavior human choice, human intent. Jesus Himself had authority over evil and recognized much pain and suffering was due to human choice. He continually choose to forgive knowing the intent, He wasnt deceived into thinking or believing they didnt mean Him harm but knew the intent of their heart as it is with us in our walk at times people do things deliberately to cause pain or hurt. When God asks me to forgive in forgiving I recognize and feel the pain caused intentionally by others toward me and my daughter I choose to forgive knowing the things they say and do against me and will continue to do and say against me and I ask God to grant me His peace and wisdom in the circumstances and situations in my life understanding God knows the intent in their heart that others do not see. See for me God doesnt deny what has been done to me by others or nor does God deny what other have done to others and I continue to ask the Holy Spirit to intercede on behalf of those who have suffered due to the intent of others and I pray He strengthen each inwardly who continue to choose to forgive. God says forgiveness will mean one thing to one conscious of minor offenses, another thing for those conscious of major offenses and something completely different for the one who bore the pain and hurt of things done against them and their loved ones. Choosing to forgive is acknowledging the wrong done against oneself or loved ones by others. When God asks me to forgive He is often acknowledging to me He recognizes the wrong that has been done and continues to be done and this frees me. When anyone asks another to forgive what they are acknowledging as well is the wrong done that caused them pain.
