For years I had a poster of a Thai long-tail boat on a beach at Koh Phi Phi on my wall. I especially liked to look at it in the middle of a cold rainy New Zealand winter and think about how nice it would be go there one day. Fast forward 20 years and I now live in Singapore and have been to Thailand many times. But the image of long-tail boats on the beach is still an symbol of warmth and a happy life to me. So it was with great enthusiasm that I photographed these sister boats on Koh Phi Phi the first time I visited there. This picture essentially represents the fulfillment of a dream that I had had since I was teenager. lightandcomposition/photo-of-the-day-may-14-sisters-on-the-shore-by-sean-lowcay/
