For years we have watched a man entertain us with sports news, updates and insight on ESPN. Most of us who follow sports know full well when we have ESPN on in the background and we hear Booyah, we knew it was Stuart Scott. Since 2007, when he was diagnosed with cancer, he stayed on the air fighting the disease publicly and fighting it hard. Many people battle cancer in private, he did it while still being one of the most recognizable faces in sports reporting. Maybe one day those who are fighting it both privately and publicly can have their fight be non-existent because of science finally finding a cure for it. In January 2013, he told USA TODAY about his routine at the time, which included only missing his ESPN work days for chemotherapy treatments every other Monday, after which hed go train at a mixed-martial arts gym. I can take this, he said at the time. Deal with it easier than some people I see. So I think for the ones who cant punch a heavy bag, cant spar, who cant do any of that. Ill do it for you. RIP Stuart, you lived your far too short life to the fullest. usatoday/story/sports/2015/01/04/stuart-scott-espn-obituary-cancer/13588487/
