Doolittles B-25 bomber taking off the deck of USS Hornet CV-8 on 18 April 1942 on the famous Doolittle Raid on Japan. The shorter man in the foreground is my dad, C.M. Logsdon, the man in front of him is Bisbees Allen Nations. Mr Nations was my dads friend, he perished at the Battle of Santa Cruz when IJN squadron leader Seki crashed his Val dive bomber into Hornets signal bridge. Seven on the signal bridge were killed and 29 injured. God bless all that have served.
