For you guys that fish little water in little boats, please see below. If you are interested in participating in this head to head team derby, please join Backwater Bass Fishing for dates, and any questions. I will not take up tons of space on this page, so please join if this is something you would like to do. GILA RIVER 1 v 1 AND TEAM v TEAM BASS FISHING DERBY SPORTSMANSHIP: this contest only works if all participants play by the same rules and have a high degree of integrity when determining a winner. Cheaters will not be tolerated and will be publicly humiliated if found out. Steven Boyce and Andrew Goettl will be the final decision makers on any disputes or judgment on perceived rule violations. This is supposed to be fun, let’s all please strive to make it so. 1. Only Largemouth Bass can be weighed. Best of five fish limit. All fish weighed must be caught on an artificial lure, NO LIVE BAIT. Any fish not caught on a hook/line cannot be weighed and must be released immediately (i.e. A bass jumped in the boat). 2. Fish will be weighed on a hand held digital scale that indicates in POUNDS and OUNCES, NOT Pounds and Tenths of pounds. Competitors are responsible to compare scales before competition begins if they wish. Weights expressed in tenths of a pound will not be accepted. Berkley makes a pretty good scale and they can be found at any Walmart. Cell phone pictures of the fish on the scale, with the weight visible and both hands accounted for are required for the fish to count. 3. If one competitor declares the other the winner, then that decision stands. We cannot nor want to do your addition for you. It is the responsibility of the competitors to compare weights and declare the winner of the match. 4. Competitors will be randomly selected on the initial bracket. Winners of their bracket will face the winners of the other brackets until only one remains. That team will receive “the quickening” and be repeatedly struck by lightning until he can hear everyone on Earth’s thoughts…. Oh, and win the first place money. 5. Entry fee is $100 per team. Once the money has been collected, brackets will be announced. Matches shall be completed in a reasonable time. Unless there is some unavoidable obligation or conflict, no more than one week will be considered “reasonable”. Time and place, length and any access restrictions will be worked out between the two competitors. 6. Once a winner has been determined, the result needs to be posted to this Facebook page so that brackets can be updated. This needs to happen ASAP. 7. Currently we are going to pay 1st and 2nd place, with the possibility of paying a 3rd place depending on how many enter.
