Forces.ca “The Royal Canadian Air Force is making a significant contribution of air assets – such as the CF-188 Hornet fighter aircraft that departed 4 Wing Cold Lake today – to Canada’s Operation Impact in support to the coalition efforts in Iraq. Along with a CC-150 Polaris aerial tanker from 8 Wing Trenton and two CP-140 Aurora surveillance aircraft from 14 Wing Greenwood, with aircrew and logistical support members from Wings across the country, the RCAF is doing its part to support the Government of Canada’s objectives in that region of the world. This effort reflects the agility, versatility and expeditionary capability of Canada’s Air Force to mount and sustain operations at home and abroad, and delivers the appropriate air effects wherever they’re required.” Lieutenant-General Yvan Blondin, Commander Royal Canadian Air Force “The deploying members of 4 Wing are ready to contribute to Canada’s mission in the Middle East. I’m confident that their training and preparations will allow them to succeed in supporting the Op IMPACT mission. I am very proud of the work and effort they have all put forth and will continue to put forth while representing the RCAF, CAF and Canada.” Colonel Eric Kenny, Commander 4 Wing/CFB Cold Kitty Lake
