Ford Recalls 1.4M Vehicles; Keeps the Spotlight Off GM Ford has announced a series of recall campaigns, covering 1.4 million vehicles manufactured between 2006 and 2013. The biggest group covers the Ford Escape, Mercury Mariner and Ford-built Mazda Tribute CUV, all built between 2008 and 2011. 915,216 vehicles are affected, 736,000 of which are in the US, with the bulk of the rest in Canada and Mexico. The fault here lies with the torque sensor in the steering column that could cause sudden power steering failure.
