Forecast for Nov 22 2013 West - Winter Storm Boreas will continue to produce rain and snow across the Southwest Saturday. - A more showery weather regime is likely in the lower elevations of Arizona and parts of New Mexico Saturday. - Heavy snow will move from higher elevations of Utah and Arizona to the higher elevations of southern Colorado and New Mexico. - Snowfall totals of 12-24 are possible in the higher mountains. - Gusty winds of 30 to 40 mph will accompany the snow in New Mexico. - Arctic air and strong winds will enhance wintry conditions this weekend across New Mexico. - Heavy snow/wind around the I-40 corridor (including the Albuquerque area) could see travel delays and even road closures by Saturday night and Sunday. - Parts southeast New Mexico could see some freezing rain Saturday. - High temperatures will be well below average across the Southwest this weekend, but some temperature moderation will occur in northern sections of the region. - Damaging wind gusts are still possible for the southern the Sierra Nevada mountains into early Saturday. Midwest - Much of the region will see a dry Saturday - Some lake-effect snow is likely to fall across parts of northern Mmichigan, northern Indiana and northeast Ohio. - Several inches of snow can be expected in northern Michigan and northeast Ohio. - Highs in the cold teens from the eastern Dakotas to northern Wisconsin. - Highs in the 20s around the Great Lakes with 30s from the central Plains to the Ohio Valley. - Windy conditions from the great lakes to the Ohio Valley to make it feel even colder. South - Scattered light showers from the western Gulf Coast to the Carolinas. - A light mixture of snow, sleet and freezing rain can be expected ion Texas from the Panhandle through western sections of the state. - Highs in the 30s in western Texas and 40s from eastern Texas to Tennessee. - Highs in the 50s from Virginia to central Georgia. - Much of Florida will reach the balmy 80s ahead of a cold front. - Winter Storm Boreas will bring a more significant wintry precipitation event from western Texas into Oklahoma on Sunday. - A more of an icy wintry mix is possible Sunday into early Monday from southwest Texas near Midland to the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex. Northeast - Lake-effect snow showers Saturday from northwest Pennsylvania to western/central New York as arctic air moves in. - Coastal areas of the region will be mainly dry Saturday. - Sunday will be windy with periods of snow from West Virginia through western Pennsylvania to upstate New York and northern New England. - A windy and much colder Sunday is in store as a blast of arctic air invades the region. - By Sunday, high temperatures will be 15 to 20 degrees below average across the region with highs in the 20s and 30s
