Forecast for Thursday 23rd October Risk of Severe Weather: Low Significant Weather: Heavy Rain. (W and SW Scotland). Winds: SWly moderate or fresh. Summary: A mostly cloudy start to the day across many northern and western areas of the UK with areas of rain and drizzle. More persistent and heavier rain is possible across W Scotland. For southern and eastern areas of England it is a dry start with some bright spells possible. Through the day a mild and moist SWly wind will bring low cloud and mostly cloudy conditions to many areas of W and SW Scotland, N England, Ireland, Wales and SW England, essentially regions exposed to the wind. Across these areas drizzle or patchy rain is possible and this may extend inland and further east at times. However, most central and eastern areas of England should be drier albeit with a lot of cloud. A mild day for most areas with maximum temperatures ranging between 12°C and 17°C. Chief Forecaster: MH
