Forecast for the rest of Wednesday Scattered showers about the west and far south, possibly extending to remaining southern areas at times. Fine elsewhere. Locally cold at first then a cool day, with moderate to fresh westerly winds, lighter and more variable about the upper east coast. Weather Situation A high centred over the Bight will move very slowly eastwards today, maintaining a west to southwesterly airflow over Tasmania. A relatively weak cold front will then move past the south of the state this evening, with the high expected to approach Bass Strait later tomorrow. The high should then move out over the Tasman Sea on Friday as a weak trough approaches across the Bight. The trough is likely to cross Tasmania late on Saturday as a cold front approaches from the southwest.
