Forensics Team Sets Record Performance The Maggie Walker Forensics Team took a record six participants to The Catholic Forensic Leagues Grand National Tournament on May 24-25. In Forensics, Naomi Vickers (Richmond 17) advanced to the first Championship round in Oral Interpretation. while Elizabeth Ratliffe (Henrico 15) advanced to the Semi-finals in Dramatic Performance. Christopher Benos (Chesterfield 14), Michael Benos (Chesterfield 16), Elizabeth Benos (Chesterfield 17) and Andrew Leffler (Henrico 15) also performed well. The team had the best performance in school history, finishing 10th overall. For the Debate Team Reshini Premaratne (Henrico 16) went 3-2 in Lincoln-Douglas Debate while Leon Zhan (Henrico 14) and Yash Tekriwal (Henrico 14) went 3-2 in Public Forum Debate. Both narrowly missed qualifying for the championship rounds (only the top 32 debaters advance to the championship round). Mr. Dan Brown, the Forensics and Debate Teams Sponsor, wishes to particularly thank the Governors School Foundation and Academic Boosters, without whose support the team could have afforded to travel to Chicago for the tournament.
