Forest Black What beast darkens upon my cabin door From the grim forest where chivalry fears As the woods is part of evil’s horrid design In search of my heart and soul to define For I feel the woe of my life in full dismay Beckoning me forward to the dark shadows black Where wide-eyed owls hoot in thinning trees As the eerie sounds, speak through the talking of leaves From limbs stretched with feasting fingertips In the afforest mist shrouded by wooded walls Where un-harvest souls ride the bullet of death Taken by winds with warts on withered tongues From the rant of crows cawing on glass windowsills For the tapping, tapping of my sorrow from cutting eyes To the far reaching of my dream-like, of unfilled nights Where evil throes clouds amiss marked stones Below the hooting owls from caldrons smoked in evil’s black That tests my heart and soul to last, to last In my resurrection beneath the ebony pines, knotted Gnarled in timber weaved in thrashing vines For the haunting decease of god like mines In want to release the evil from bewitching brews As cruelty rises slowly in black of given demise That paws at my soul in gentle sleep In slumber’s path, where evil waits to reap So do not knock upon my cabin door Willing or not knock for nevermore For I cannot answer to troubles washed in hallows night From an apocalypse we deserved So maybe next time we will get it right Before the final nail has struck in hours twelve Upon the black forest of my bottom out mind
