Forever Young When I was a small boy, I felt one day that the grownups of the world just did not understand me, and they did not understand US. It was a summers day with one of those gentle amber glows that you can see in old photos from the seventies. It was long ago, yet I can still show you the exact spot where I was standing. It was next to my classroom, and I was only 6 or 7 years old. I will never forget how I decided in that moment that even though I may grow up one day, I would never forget what it was like to think like a child. I would never become one of those grownups who did not understand children. I would never forget to be a boy. In the year after I was born, Bob Dylan wrote a song for his little son of four years old. If a father ever wrote a song for his boy, it should be a song as beautiful as this one. It was more than a song. It was a blessing, and he shared it with the world. Others, like Joan Baez, sang the song much more beautifully than he did, yet somehow Bob still sang it like nobody else. Perhaps, because these were his words. And his blessings, and perhaps because he really wanted them to come true. Bob Dylan turned 73 a few days ago. He bears the years of a grandfather now, but I still cant think of him as old. He embodied the spirit of an era. He encapsulated the heart of an epoch. One day he will leave us, as all great men do. But he will never grow old, because his music, like his legend, will stay forever young. This is my song too. When I die one day, play it on my funeral and throw my flowers across your shoulders as you sing along, remembering after all was said and done, that I too, remained forever young. May God bless and keep you always May your wishes all come true May you always do for others And let others do for you May you build a ladder to the stars And climb on every rung May you stay forever young Forever young, forever young May you stay forever young May you grow up to be righteous May you grow up to be true May you always know the truth And see the lights surrounding you May you always be courageous Stand upright and be strong May you stay forever young Forever young, forever young May you stay forever young May your hands always be busy May your feet always be swift May you have a strong foundation When the winds of changes shift May your heart always be joyful May your song always be sung May you stay forever young Forever young, forever young May you stay forever young dailymotion/video/xs13ou_bob-dylan-forever-young_music
