Forget Banksy, this mixed media piece, entitled Chip Pan With Fat - TopicsExpress

Forget Banksy, this mixed media piece, entitled Chip Pan With Fat by an anonymous local artist, is a fine example of street art that the council wont be taking away overnight. The work challenges the viewers conception of the boundaries between art and waste. This prolific artist is part of the guerrilla recycling movement whose members are particularly active on Chelsea Park Road and the trees along the cycling path. By placing the abandoned chip pan, still with its fat, on top of an stolen IKEA trolley the artist is inviting reaction from the passer by and commenting on our throwaway consumer culture. Such pop up installations are a feature of Easton as a whole and by their fleeting nature asks us to question the temporality of existence.
